Present: Alessandro, Kris (minutes), Nikolai, Steen, Vito
The integration of MoM and ORB APIs is finished. This is a first version and more tests are needed. The client application of Stephane has to be converted to use this API. Vito has sent the link to the documentation (JavaDoc) and there is also a link from the CMW development page.
There will be a meeting with Franck on Nov. 7 concerning integration with CDEV. The purpose is to verify if this API is sufficient.
Nikolai switched completely to development on LynxOS. He is complaining about the development interfaces of ORBExpress which are non-standard. The implication is that code which was developed for CDEV previously which he wants to reuse cannot be transported easily. Also documentation of features such as using CORBA Any is missing and it takes time to find solution.
In spite of this Nikolai remains moderately optimistic. He finished the implementation of Data/DataEntry.
The Linux implementation using ORBacus will be done afterwards. It will be "the reference implementation" which will use CORBA standard bindings.
Steen has finished the PLS poller. No progress on C interface which is not really a priority right now. (Kris remark: although we do not have a real need yet, if we want to make the interface public, we need a C API specification.)
Jens made a good progress with it and he has got the basic classes which interface OPC working. He will work on data conversion and porting of the Server Framework. Jens will see him next week in 864 to help him on this. Jens will make a short presentation to the CMW team on November 8.
Two CMW directories are exported now via NFS: pcslux8:/cmw_loads and hpslz26:/vol3/u1/middlew (middlew home directory). Kris will contact Nicolas de Metz-Noblat to discuss their mount for PS.
Vito will be away 13-24 November for the military exercise.
